Kyrenia Cyprus

Kyrenia is more than just a harbour town, there really is a lot to see and do. The atmosphere of this beautiful sea-front city makes holidaying in Kyrenia a relaxing and thoroughly enjoyable experience. The old town is filled with whitewashed buildings and the ruins of walls and towers that once protected it.  Kyrenia may seem quite and sleepy during the day but once the sun sets the atmosphere changes for the nighttime’s entertainment.

Sights and places to see in Cyprus

Situated on the north coast of Cyprus, Kyrenia is home to some unique remains of countless civilizations, miles of natural beaches, calm sea, and mild climate. Kyrenia is a perfect place to while away the day maybe exploring shops or local markets and cafés or strolling in the narrow cobbled alleys by the harbour and finally going out for a brisk walk along the promenade and sea wall. Overlooking the entrance to the harbour is Kyrenia Castle.

Framed by rugged mountains, dominated by a castle and fringed by turquoise seas, the port of Kyrenia is very photogenic. The natural setting of Kyrenia’s mountain range provides endless things to see and do. Hiring a car is highly recommended in order to visit St Hilarion Castle and Bellapais, a charming village of old farmhouses and villas dominated by a ruined abbey.
